STUDENT SUPPORT

The Faculty-in-Residence (FiR) will be expected to provide various levels of student care during their time abroad. This may include extensive after hours support for students involved in emergencies, enforcement of community standards, or checking in on students who are ill. Commonly, FiR provide support for students who are struggling, asking vocational questions, or navigating issues of faith through formal/informal conversations and structured times of support.

The Program Director and Assistant Director will discuss your student care expectations during the RA and FiR Orientation that occurs before the beginning of your semester abroad. If you have any questions regarding your role in providing student care prior to orientation, please contact Mark Barneche.

For additional student mental support, please encourage the student contact their location’s respective counselor.
