Leipzig Internships:

1. Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Sachsen (DAIS) - German-American Institute Saxony

  • As an intern, you will work at the German-American Institute Saxony (DAIS), which is a, “non-profit, non-partisan institution dedicated to promoting liberal democratic societies through transatlantic dialogue on the topics of culture, history, economics and politics.”

2. Forum Thomanum

  • As an intern, you will work at the Forum Thomanum which is an “internationally oriented educational campus that builds on the 800-year tradition of Thomana Choir. Learn to believe, sing and cultural exchange are the focus of training in the campus institutions.” You will be engaging with German students aged 6-11 on a weekly basis.

All students will be required to take an online Internship Course through ACU.

LONDON

May 15 - July 16, 2025

Engage in hands-on projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and gain invaluable insights into your chosen field while enjoying the activities London offers. There will also be a select course offerings for students through a special collaboration with the University of Connecticut and a special international internship course.

All students will be required to take an online Internship Course through ACU. Other, local, course offerings include:

  • GLST 212: British Life and Culture

  • SOCI 480: Inequality and Social Justice

  • COMM: The Effects of Mass Media

  • BLAW: The Law and Ethics of Global Commerce

HONDURAS

  • Subject Areas: Education; Teaching English As A Second Or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor

This program is an English education internship at Shadai School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Shadai School offers a bilingual Christian education from pre-school to 11th grade, focusing on academic, spiritual, and personal growth. Interns will be teaching English courses across a variety of age groups and levels of expertise. Interns are provided independent housing on the same property as the school principle.

The Shadai school day starts at 6:50 am and ends at 1:30 pm, with Monday morning devotions. The week follows a 9-period schedule with breaks, while Fridays end at 12 pm. Student teachers assist or teach 3-5 classes daily, with time for lesson planning and assignments. The remainder of the afternoon can be utilized for personal activities including other coursework.

Basic conversational Spanish can be beneficial but is not required.
