CHECKLIST (SUMMER)
As you begin, please review and complete the following items:
Review and sign your FIR agreement: Your summer agreement will serve as a framework outline your role, responsibilities, and expectations with ACU Study Abroad.
Download WhatsApp: this is a messaging platform on which ALL of the information for the life of the program is shared. This is the most critical communication tool of the program. Please make sure to add your name and photo to your profile!
Fill out the Faculty-in-Residence Registration Form. This information is critical to the program for many reasons (for example, to begin the process of enrolling you in a health care plan, registering you with the city, preparing our caterers for any food allergies you may have, and so forth).
Confirm your arrival dates with the Executive Director of International Education and Study Abroad. As ACU Study Abroad evolves, we will slowly shift to earlier arrivals for our faculty-in-residence and RAs, giving them valuable time to train, acclimate to local time and context, and provide needed support for local program staff. This process will be gradual and will not proceed uniformly throughout ACU Study Abroad.
Have your Opening Welcome complete by the time you arrive. This is an 8-10 minute talk that occurs the first evening students arrive – this establishes your leadership in the house and sets your vision for the semester.
Solidify your approach to House Church before you arrive, including assembling resources, recruiting students to participate, identifying key student leaders, etc.
Thank you for your attention with these important items!
